Getting Away From it All

My friend Arnold Waldstein asked a question on Facebook.  Where in Europe do you go to get away from it all?  I don’t know much about Europe, but I know where to go in the US.  Grand Marais, MN.  It’s the coolest small town in America.

Yesterday we were speaking to one of our neighbors on the lake.  They ran CAT 6 wiring and have fiber Internet.  But, cell service there is spotty.  You can plug in when you want.  You can turn it off when you want.

Where is your place to get away from it all?

To get away from it all in France, try the Cognac region in the departments of Charente and Charente-Maritime. Rolling hills covered with vines, fresh food, clean air, a short hour’s drive from the coast and Bordeaux, and plenty of cognac.

If y’all come around, I’ll be happy to serve as guide.
