Happy New Year

Hope your head doesn’t feel like it is going to explode.  Thomas Wolfe had the best description of a hangover ever in his book, The Bonfire of the Vanities.  It’s a great book (crappy movie).  My head doesn’t feel like it’s going to explode.  My wife and I had an amazing dinner and a sweet bottle of wine.

Every New Year’s Day we go to the University Club in Chicago.  I am not a club guy per se.  But, I joined a while ago.  Living in the city you sometimes need a place like that to hang and entertain.   It’s similar to the Union League Club of Chicago or The Standard Club.  I like the location, and have met some pretty neat people.  We will stay just long enough to get home before the Rose Bowl starts.

It’s relatively simple to join, and if you want to join please contact me.  I can help you through the process.  They have a great reciprocal club roster.  My wife and I stayed at the New York Athletic Club on Central Park South for a great price when we were there.

Best to you and your family.  If you made resolutions, hope you keep them.  I’d love to know what some of them are.  Here is one comment from a blog I frequent:

“Often we spend all our time thinking how we can change situations instead of thinking how they can change us.”-Rohan

Love that thought.
