Chicago Cutting Edge Company: UICO

I was an angel investor into UICO.  It was one of HPA’s early investments.  Bahar Wadia did an interview with Tom Sosnoff of Tastytrade the other day.  I thought I’d share it with you.

Fast food workers were on strike yesterday. UICO could make a touchscreen that would replace a worker and cash register for ordering.  Kind of like ATMs.

When they first started, there weren’t a lot of touchscreens around and customers had a hard time even envisioning how they would fit into their products.  Once the iPad hit, the customers came along.

UICO touch screens are used in machines at fast food restaurants, and in applications that are water sensitive.  Here is a vid from their website.
