I agree with Pat Caddell on this point. An active fourth estate is essential to a free democracy.
It’s a bit long, but he is right. I also think that both Democrats and Republicans were classically educated back in the day. Today, they are indoctrinated, not educated. That’s a difference. I may not have agreed with Jack Kennedy or Democrats from his time, but at least they were able to critically think about what was going on. Kennedy and Goldwater wouldn’t have agreed on much, but they both hated the press. What if the media ignored Watergate? What makes you think this phenomena is isolated to politics? His comments on corruption are interesting. It indicts both Democrats and Republicans and is why we need small, limited government.
The Europeans retained the Ryder Cup. Well played.
