Are You Ready For Some Football?

Already, we are seeing ads for football season. Pro training camp opens soon, and the college season is just around the corner. Being a born and bred midwesterner, I have followed Big 10 Football for years. Of course, it meant watching Big 10 teams get “upset” every year in the Rose Bowl. The west coast teams always killed the Big 10 out there, especially Michigan.
However, I have found a new “religion”. SEC football. For many, SEC football is religion!
The players are the best. The coaches, the best. The teams, the best. Some of the rivalries are great, and they have fun with it. Florida vs Georgia, the World’s Largest Cocktail Party. Plus the weather is generally decent and the fans are rabid.
Thank goodness CBS telecasts the games every week. I was watching a typical slow, plodding Big 10 match up last year. I switched the channel to see what was on. Virtually any SEC game is more exciting than most Big 10, ACC, Pac 10 or Big 12 games. Kentucky vs South Carolina, two middling SEC football programs had a great game last year. I will grant that watching Michigan play Ohio State, or OU vs Texas is as good. But week in and week out, SEC football is where it’s at.
Here is the best tailgate in the United States:
